Why are size 40 shoes so difficult to find?
Size 40 is in the shoe size range of 9.5-10 for women. Most stores do not carry many in this size as they want to make sure that they sell everything, and the smaller sized sell faster (there are more people with smaller feet than us). As such, those of us needing this size spend a ton of time and effort looking for shoes.
Why Dansko?
Their line of shoes and clogs are amazing because of the great comfort that they provide. They are stylish and wonderful to walk around in. If you are going to be on your feet for most of the day, you will want to wear them as well.
I found out about these shoes from a friend of mine. She was constantly raving about them. How comfortable they were and how long they rented. Here is the start of my hunt. Once I found a pair, I was amazed with how great my feet felt during a long day.
Although there are many retailers selling Dansko shoes, most do not have size 40 in stock (which equivalent to the US women's size 9.5-10). I searched high and low, then decided to try the internet. I did a lot of checking around at the various online stores, but was nervous to purchase because I was worried that they would not fit and then I would have to ship them back at my own cost (ugh!).
